Set - Reset

If this block receives a True signal from the set input. It provides the output as True until the True signal comes from the reset input. As soon as the True signal comes from the reset input, it starts to output as False.

Set - Reset Node Documentation

The Set - Reset node in AugeLab Studio is used to set or reset a boolean value based on the inputs. It provides a mechanism to set or reset a state based on the values of the Set and Reset inputs.

Node Overview

The Set - Reset node has two input sockets: Set and Reset. The Set input is used to set the boolean value to True, while the Reset input is used to reset the boolean value to False. The node outputs the current state of the boolean value.

Node Interaction

  1. 1.
Drag and drop the Set - Reset node from the node library onto the canvas in AugeLab Studio.
  2. 2.
Connect the Set input to the desired input that triggers the setting of the boolean value to True.
  3. 3.
Connect the Reset input to the desired input that triggers the resetting of the boolean value to False.
  4. 4.
The node will update the boolean value based on the inputs and output the current state.

Input and Output Sockets

The Set - Reset node has two input sockets: Set and Reset. Both sockets accept boolean values (True or False). The node has one output socket that outputs the current state of the boolean value.

Implementation Details

The Set - Reset node follows these steps to determine the output value:
  1. 1.
Input Retrieval: The node retrieves the Set and Reset inputs.
  2. 2.
Boolean Conversion: The inputs are converted to boolean values.
  3. 3.
Output Calculation: Based on the inputs, the node determines the output value using the following logic:
    • If the Reset input is True, the output value is set to False.
    • If the Set input is True, the output value is set to True.
    • If both inputs are False, the output value retains the previous state.
  4. 4.
The previous state is stored to be used as the output value in the next evaluation.

Usage

  1. 1.
Drag and drop the Set - Reset node from the node library onto the canvas in AugeLab Studio.
  2. 2.
Connect the Set input to the input that triggers the setting of the boolean value to True.
  3. 3.
Connect the Reset input to the input that triggers the resetting of the boolean value to False.
  4. 4.
Run the pipeline or execute the node to update the boolean value and obtain the current state.
  5. 5.
The node will output the current state of the boolean value.

Notes

  • The Set - Reset node is useful for controlling and maintaining a state based on inputs.
  • It provides a simple mechanism to set or reset a boolean value in a data pipeline.
  • The node can be used in various scenarios, such as controlling flags, enabling or disabling features, or maintaining states in state machines.
  • The node helps streamline data processing and control logic within a data pipeline.
  • It enhances the capabilities of AugeLab Studio for building complex data workflows with dynamic state management.
